The Hampton Court Palace
The Hampton Court Palace is an easy train ride from London’s Waterloo station to Hampton Court and just walking though the gates and seeing the front of the Palace is amazing. The historical information available in every room is helpful and intriguing with headsets provided with detailed commentary for every turn that are easy to use and cover all languages. Costumed actors playing anything from servants to Henry VIII and his courtiers might be encountered during your visit and palace kitchens are filled with costumed Tudor staff cooking typical meals of the era in immense hearths, happy to answer questions or demonstrate 500 year old kitchen technology. The gardens can be toured on foot with Surrey escorts, or by a carriage.
Brooklands museum is also a great place for anyone interested in cars and planes. You can enter the old airliners with staff who knows a lot of details about the air crafts.
